What I'm Doing Now
I'm writing this update from a cool co-working space called Paper Plane Project in Bangkok, Thailand.
For the past 6 months I've been planting roots in Da Nang, Vietnam. I've made awesome new friends, learned lots about the city, its culture, and even some Vietnamese. But it's time for a change.
PS: I made a video about life in Da Nang and why I cancelled my plans to return to Europe.
5 days ago I moved to Bangkok.
I now have the new Thailand DTV visa, which allows me to stay in Thailand for the next 5 years. It's pretty incredible as far as nomad visas go, and I'm super happy to have that.
I've never been in a city like Bangkok before. It's a unique kind of mega city. I'm feeling its cyberpunk energy, and its craziness is making me feel very alive. I'm looking forward to getting to know it much more.
I'm a city person at heart. I love NYC, London, Barcelona. Big cities are loud, chaotic, and melting pots of everything and everyone. Bangkok hits all these notes too, but in its own unique Asian way.
For the next 3 months here's what I'm focused on:
1: Fitness
I've been training for the past 15 years very regularly. I'm happy with my strength, form, progress, etc. But I'm taking it up a notch. It's time to find another level, and there's nothing like fitness goals to keep you honest with lots of other things.
2: Work
I just launched a major update to Yakk, including its first paid course for Vietnamese. Yakk is now making money! That still hasn't sunk in.
Yakk needs many more courses, and that's my main focus.
I'm also going to start work on 2 new projects.
One is in the language-learning space. The other is going to flip the script on society's obsession with focusing on what needs to be done and not all the things we actually get done.
I'll share more about both projects soon.
3: Thai
Just as I did with Vietnamese, I want to reach a very basic conversational level in Thai. I want to live here, and I want to talk to local people in their own language.
If you have Thailand recommendations, or want to get coffee, hit me up.
PS: I share most of my day-to-day via Instagram.
